Prepare Yourself during National Preparedness Month

Prepare Yourself during National Preparedness Month

Tuesday, 06 September 2011

September is National Preparedness Month, which provides Americans with simple steps to plan for emergencies in their homes, businesses, and schools. For firefighters and EMS personnel to be fully ready for emergencies, it is also important to ensure their minds and bodies are properly prepared to successfully serve their community.

Preserving lives, safeguarding property, and providing other vital services are just a few of the essential roles first responders play during an emergency. Ensuring that you and your department are at your best improves how you serve your community.

First responders can utilize the following tools and resources to ensure they are prepared at home and on duty when an emergency strikes:

You can find more information on preparing your department and community by visiting the Fire Corps National Preparedness Month Resource Center or Ready.gov.
