NVFC Health Fair Visits East Coast in June

Wednesday, 08 June 2011

The National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) is bringing its first responder health fair to three states on the East Coast this month, offering free health screenings, workshops, and resources to state conference attendees. First responders at the South Carolina State Firefighters’ Association Conference, Maryland State Firemen’s Association Convention, and New England Fire, Rescue, and EMS Conference are invited to take advantage of all the health fair offerings.

At the South Carolina State Firefighters' Association Conference on June 7-11 in Myrtle Beach and the New England Fire, Rescue, and EMS Conference on June 24-26 in West Springfield, MA, the NVFC will provide a two-day Health and Wellness Advocate Workshop, a three-hour Behavioral Health Workshop, and free cholesterol and glucose screenings. Attendees at these shows and the Maryland State Firemen’s Association Convention, June 20-22 in Ocean City, MD, can stop by the NVFC booth in the exhibit area to pick up information and tools from all of the NVFC’s programs, including the Heart-Healthy Firefighter Program.
