|Tuesday, 06 July 2010|
National Firefighter Health Week 2010 is August 16-20, and the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) has released an online Resource Center at www.healthy-firefighter.org/healthweek to help you and your department participate. Visit the Resource Center to learn about important health topics that affect first responders and find ideas to start planning and promoting your National Firefighter Health Week activities now.
The 2010 theme - “Only you can Keep It Strong. Are you up for the Challenge?” - asks first responders to take personal responsibility for their health and wellness and take the steps necessary to keep their heart, mind, and body strong. Each day of National Firefighter Health Week is dedicated to a different health issue of particular concern to emergency service personnel.
The National Firefighter Health Week Resource Center contains resources and tools to help you plan your Health Week events. This includes daily activity suggestions, a motivational poster, links to tools and resources, and much more to help everyone in your department adopt and maintain heart-healthy lifestyles. There are also resources for promoting your local Health Week activities in the community, including a customizable press release, web banners, and even a sponsorship toolkit for getting local businesses to support your health and wellness activities. Only you can keep it strong – get started today at healthy-firefighter.org.
