Visit the NVFC Booth at Fire-Rescue International

Tuesday, 04 August 2009

Following another successful show at Firehouse Expo in July, the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) is bringing its trade show booth to Fire-Rescue International in Dallas, TX, from August 28-29. Stop by the NVFC booth (#6255) to learn more about resources that will benefit you and your department, including information about the Heart-Healthy Firefighter Program and other key initiatives.

"Heart attack is the cause of nearly half of line-of-duty firefighter deaths. The Heart-Healthy Firefighter Program is working to reduce this alarming statistic," said Lillian Ricardo, NVFC Health and Safety Project Coordinator. "Trade shows including Fire-Rescue International give us an opportunity to meet with first responders from across the nation to provide them will the tools and resources they need to stay heart-healthy."

Departments and individuals can also visit the NVFC booth to find out how to increase their department’s capacity through Fire Corps, find guides on retention and recruitment and vehicle safety, and learn more about how to establish or further develop a youth program with help from the National Junior Firefighter Program.
