Visit the NVFC at FDIC
|Monday, 02 March 2009|
As you plan your visit to FDIC in Indianapolis, IN, April 22-25, make sure and include a stop by the NVFC’s interactive exhibit on your agenda. The booth will feature resources to benefit you and your department, including information about the Heart-Healthy Firefighter Program and other key NVFC initiatives.
“The Heart-Healthy Firefighter Program works to reduce the number of firefighters and emergency personnel who die from heart attack,” said Lillian Ricardo, NVFC Health and Safety Project Coordinator. “First responders can visit us at FDIC to get important resources to help them and their families keep their hearts strong and avoid becoming a statistic.”
Departments and individuals can also visit the NVFC booth to find out how to increase their department’s capacity through Fire Corps and how to apply for the National Junior Firefighter Scholarship and Grant Program. The scholarship application period is now open – learn more at the NVFC booth and online at www.nvfc.org/juniors. The deadline for scholarship applications is May 15.
